SRB suspends application of sales tax on inter-city transportation, oil tankers

KARACHI: Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has suspended the application of sales tax on services rendered in relation to inter-city transportation or carriage of petroleum oils up to December 31, 2017.

The SRB issued Circular No. 07/2017 regarding Sindh sales tax on the services of inter-city transportation or carriage of goods by road or through pipeline or conduit.
It stated that the provincial government had decided to continue to hold in abeyance the levy and collection of Sindh sales tax on such of the taxable services (of tariff heading 9836.0000 of the Second Schedule to the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011) as are provided or rendered in relation to the services of inter-city transportation or carriage of petroleum oils by road through oil tankers for further period up to December 31, 2017.
