Snapchat is planning for a complete transformation

Usually when people sign up for Snapchat, their first concern is usage. People find it difficult to understand and that is the reason they quit the app. Well after seeing users concern the company has finally realized and the CEO of Snapchat has finally announced that they will be completely going for redesigning the app and the new design will be easier to use.

Mr. Evan Speigel, CEO Snapchat acknowledges the users concerns regarding facing difficulties over the years and now finally they are planning for a redesigning. Mr Evan stated, “One thing that we have heard over the years is that Snapchat is difficult to understand or hard to use, and our team has been working on responding to this feedback. As a result, we are currently redesigning our application to make it easier to use.”

Furthermore, he said the upcoming design will not just be some minor UI tweaks, but it is going to be complete transformation and they have no idea how the users are going to react on the transformation but still the company is going to take the risk.

“There is a likelihood that the redesign of our application will be disruptive to our business in the short term, and we don’t yet know how the behavior of our community will change when they begin to use our updated application. We’re willing to take that risk for what we trust are substantial long-term benefits to our business.” Mr Evan stated.

He also stated that the users will experience a major change in the story feeds. As the Stories will now be more personalized and individual user will be having its own user experience with the stories. “We are developing a fresh solution to facilitate each of our 178 million daily active users with their own Stories experience, leveraging the tremendous profit of machine learning without compromising the editorial integrity of the Stories platform that we have worked so hard to build,” he stated

Yet the company haven’t given any deadline when they are going to launch the new design but had mentioned that in the start it will be rolled out to the selected markets, later they may launch it globally.

As we mentioned earlier that Snapchat has been users are drseing back due to the hard design application. But the new design is surely a risk, but at the same time it may help Snapchat to add more users and grow on a fast pace. Recently Snapchat faced a loss of $40 million because they were unable to sell the Spectacles; it was their newly made glasses with a built-in camera. The company predicted to sell hundreds and thousands of Spectacles but unfortunately it managed to sell round 150,000 units and faced a huge loss.

Lets keep fingers cross and wait for the updated Snapchat. Time will be answer whether it may help the company to grow or fails.
