A 71-year-old West An Australian businessman Roger Hussey 71 year old passed away in a parasailing accident at a beach on the Thai resort island of Phuket. Hussey was enjoying his arrived holiday trip witj his wife. This incident took place yesterday where dozens of people watched Australia businessman fall 100ft to his death in Phuket.
He was taken to Patong Hospital but was pronounced dead soon after arrival.
Mr Hussey fell into the water and beachgoers rushed him to shore, but he was pronounced dead in hospital.
Mrs Hussey reportedly filmed the horrified accident.
Lt. Col. Suwisit Keereerak, Deputy Chief Inspector of Karon Police Station, assured investigating the accident. Where as the boat operator and the man with him accidentally pulled on a hook that unstrapped due to confusing ropes on his parasail.
Both staffers were charged named parasilor Rungroj Rakscheep, 38, and Montien Chandeng, 45, the boat captain. They both were arrested and charged for recklessness causing death. While the other suspect is still under custody for investigation.
Who was Roger Hussey?
Mr Hussey was well known Western Australian business man. He was law graduated from the University of Western Australia and completed his diploma from Oxford in economics and politics.
Mr Hussey was the CEO of an ASX-listed industrial company named Century Holdings Ltd, which grew from start-up to $250 million sales in Australia and Asia.
Mr Hussey has also chaired numerous government and community bodies, along with Southern Ports Authority, Princess Margaret Hospital, PMH Child Health Research Institute (now Telethon Kids Institute), Agwest Trade Development, and TAB (WA). He has served on a number of boards including WA’s land information authority Landgate, WA Neuroscience Research Institute and Bali Eye Foundation.
Rogers close friends, colleagues and relatives expressed deep grief after hearing this news and In a statement, Landgate stated about Mr Hussey’s death and offered sympathies to his family and friends.
Mr Hussey has also served the West Australian community — as a businessman, board member and advocate for a variety of community causes.”
