Google is paying tribute in memory of Madam Noor Jehan’s 92nd birthday with her own google doodle.
Google has also added a short note too, which says “[The] Doodle captures Jehan’s unique singing stance — her chin tilted up, her hand flung out, and a flower in her hair. Happy Birthday, Madam.”
The legendary Singer was born on 21st September 1925 in Kasur city. She belong to a musician family, she was 5 years old when she started singing, and due to her assorted taste in traditional and folk, pop theater, her family decided to move Calcutta, where Noor Jehan was finally revealed by directors of the movies
in spite of the fact that Medam Noor Jehan was starred in numerous hit movies like Khandaan, and her voice endeared so much to her fans. After Pak-India partition, she moved with her family to Pakistan and spent rest of her life singing. The patriotic songs which she sang became her fame, usually she was invited at national events. She was titled as “Malika-e-Taranum” – the Queen of Melody in Pakistan. She was also bestowed with Tamgha e Imtiaz and Sitara I Imtiaz by government of Pakistan.
I order to honor a celebrity Google Doodle is a innovative project on the track nowadays by the search engine. Previously Google Doodle has paid homage to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abdul Sattar Edhi and Pakistan’s Independence Day. Though doodle honoring Pakistan or their citizens are mostly targeted by its homeland users.
Similar to Pakistan Google Doodle, other Google Doodles also paid tribute today, i.e. Mexican Ballet dancer Amalia Hernandez’s on her 100th birth anniversary and Dr. Samuel Johnson on his 308th birthday.
