Karachi citizens facing difficulty due to mobile services discontinuation without any prior government notice
By Mah Jabeen
The major step to suspend mobile phone services in major cities of Sindh was taken by the Federal Government after the orders opposed by Sindh Government due to maintain strict security during Ashura processions. Since the phone services have already been discontinued from today morning in red zone areas of Karachi without any aforementioned notice, due to which the citizens are facing much trouble.
Similarly back last year on the Ashura occasion the Government suspended mobile phone services in more than 52 cities due to security threats.
It is most probably expected that the government may announce proper cellular service suspension today.
On the other hand the telecom companies will also be suffering a high amount of loss due to halt in their service. Back in 2016 the telecommunication companies bared loss over more than Rs. 500M in 4 days mobile service suspension only in Islamabad city.
In the past the telecom company has various disputed arguments regarding the suspension of the service is not a satisfied solution to halt terrorism. And that the government authority should take major steps or rather an alternative move as the suffering telecom industry is already working on a minimal margin.
