Government of Pakistan has suspended internet services in 3 Balochistan districts

The internet service is been temporarily suspended in the district of Chaman, Pashin and qila Abdullah of Balochistan by Pakistan government.

Ministry of information technology and Telecommunicatio (MOIT) has announced that the wireless data service, i.e. 3G, 4G/LTE, GPRS of CMOs and PTCL of the above mentioned district will remain suspended to a certain period of time.

The services are on hold with the consent of Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) in accordance with particular security reasons. Whereas, the authorities are still not sure about the exact date and time of the services resuming.

The Senates Standing Committee and Information Technology and Telecommunication has revealed serious concern over the hold of the cellular networks in Mohamand Agency, FATA and suspension of the internet services in the area.

According to PTA , they have received the request of suspension of service and has directed respective operators to implement the orders in certain areas.

Moreover, according to the orders of Armed Forces, all mobile services in Mohamand Agency are held since 15th March 2017, due to ongoing military operation. Similarly for FATA region the facility is on held since 14th June 2016 and will remain closed till further orders.

PTA Chairman, Mr. Ismail Shah stated that the cross border signal issues has been raised with Afghanistan through Foreign Office. He further added that the jammers are not the only solution to resolve these issues.
