7 signs which indicate that your thyroid isn’t working properly

Thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland present in our neck which has various impact on our while body. Thyroid disorder is more likely to be present in women who aged more than 35 years.
In America approximately 30M suffers thyroid disorder that is diagnosed and half a Million are those who silent suffer from this disorder and are not diagnosed. Thyroid disorder is found 10 times more in women than in men.
Signs which may indicate that your thyroid isn’t working well
1. Thyroid 101
Thyroid gland produces a type of hormone which is responsible to regulate body temperature, metabolism and heart beat. This can go wrong if your thyroid is under or over active.
2. You will feel exhausted
Feeling tired and exhausted may be due many reasons. But one of the thyroid disorder symptoms also causes tiredness. If you are feeling tired after a good sleep at night then this symptom may evolve due to hypothyroidism
3. You may feel depress
Mood swings in women are common due to menstrual cycle. But being depress and off usually may be the cause of underactive thyroid which turn other body functions down.
4. Your appetite gets altered
Thyroid disorder may increase your appetite and you may feel hungry more oftenly. This increase in appetite might be the reason of hyperthyroidism which releases too much thyroid hormone. This disorder will end in weight gain.
5. You may feel fluttery
Sometimes you may feel like your heart is fluttery or skipping a heartbeat, or you feel it heart or too quickly. You will feel heart palpitations mostly in your chest or at pulse point on your throat or neck. Feeling fluttery may be the sign of too many thyroid hormones flooding in your body.
6. Change in skin texture
Considering other symptoms, thyroid disorder may cause the change in skin texture and appearance. This is the cause of slowed metabolism which reduces sweating thus leaving your skin dry and flaky.
7. Upset stomach
Hyperthyroid may sometimes cause constipation due to slow down of digestive process. Sometimes you may suffer diarrhea as well due to over active thyroid gland.
